Description
Crack Repair 31 is a Bonstone two-part, low-viscosity epoxy cartridge system for injecting thin horizontal cracks in stone. The 450 mL package uses a 2:1 mix ratio and is built for repair work where the material needs to flow into narrow voids without opening the stone face further.
Crack Repair 31 Benefits
- Low-viscosity epoxy helps flow into thin horizontal cracks in stone and masonry repair work.
- 2:1 cartridge format keeps resin and hardener metered through the correct static mixer.
- Three hour set time at 75 degrees F gives crews working time for careful injection and cleanup.
- ASTM C-881 Type I and II, Class C, Grade 1 listing supports engineering review for repair procedures.
- Can be tinted with compatible liquid tints when the finished repair needs closer color control.
This product is a fit for stone restoration, countertop repair, monument work, and fabrication shops that need an injectable epoxy rather than a paste. Use the small long nozzle when the crack is narrow and access is limited.
Crack Repair 31 Applications
- Injecting thin horizontal cracks in natural stone slabs.
- Repairing narrow cracks in shop-fabricated stone pieces before final finish work.
- Filling stone voids where a low-flow bead can reach the full crack path.
- Engineering-grade epoxy injection on repairs that reference ASTM C-881.
- Restoration jobs where tinting may help the repair blend into surrounding stone.
Surface Preparation And Use
Remove dust, loose grit, oil, wax, water, and stone polishing residue before injection. Dry fit the nozzle and cartridge setup before opening the adhesive path. If the crack face is visible, mask the surrounding surface so cleanup is controlled and excess epoxy does not spread over finished stone.
Dispense through the recommended mixer and nozzle until the bead is uniform, then work steadily across the crack. Keep the cartridge, nozzle, and repair area at a stable shop temperature when possible. Do not load or refinish the repair until the epoxy has reached the needed cure for the job.
