Description
This metal retainer holds a 2.5 oz cartridge and is one of the core dispensing valve parts in Techcon’s G Series pneumatic cartridge system, built to run at up to 100 psi (6.9 bar) of air pressure. The cartridge loads into the retainer body, a cap and hose assembly seals the back end, and the retainer becomes the pressure vessel that pushes fluid out through the cartridge nozzle when the gun trigger opens the air path.
Where These Dispensing Valve Parts Get Used
Shops dispensing small-format 2-part adhesives, sealants, and potting compounds from 2.5 oz cartridges use this retainer on a standard pneumatic gun body rather than a bulkier cartridge holder sized for 10 oz or 20 oz tubes. It suits low-volume touch-up work, prototype builds, and repair stations where a full-size cartridge would go to waste before curing out.
Fit and Handling for These Dispensing Valve Parts
Load the cartridge into the retainer before threading on the cap assembly, and confirm the o-ring seal seats fully before applying air pressure. A retainer that will not hold pressure at the rated 100 psi usually points to a worn seal rather than a fault in the metal body itself, since the retainer body is built to outlast several seal replacements.
