Description
The Chem-Set F1 no drill bonding fastener anchors a threaded boss to a panel without drilling through it. A 50mm square base bonds flat to the surface with structural adhesive, and the boss carries an internal 1/4-20 thread that accepts a standard machine screw. Because nothing penetrates the substrate, the back face stays sealed and intact.
Where the No Drill Bonding Fastener Helps
It suits sheet metal, composite, glass, stone, and finished panels where a drilled hole would weaken the part, break a coating, or breach a watertight or clean back surface. The wide square base spreads load across the bond line, so the joint resists pull and shear better than a small footprint stud. For adjacent anchors and studs, browse our bonding fasteners category.
Installing the No Drill Bonding Fastener
Abrade and clean the bond area, apply a compatible structural adhesive to the base, set the fastener, and let it cure before loading the thread. Hold light pressure while the adhesive sets so the base stays flat and square to the panel. Match the adhesive to the substrate and the service temperature for the strongest bond. Cure time depends on the adhesive you pick, so set the fixture so the part stays still until the bond reaches handling strength. Once cured, the thread takes a screw and releases it through repeated service without chewing up the panel.
