Description
Chem-Set CA-2400 is a thick-bodied cyanoacrylate built for jobs where a thin, runny glue won’t stay put. At roughly 2400 cps, it sets faster than conventional cyanoacrylates and fills small gaps instead of wicking away from the joint before it cures. The formula bonds a wide range of substrates, including metals, ceramics, plastics, and elastomers, and handles difficult-to-bond plastics such as polyacetals that shrug off thinner adhesives and many general-purpose glues.
Chem-Set CA-2400 Applications
This viscosity works well on vertical or overhead joints, porous parts that need gap-fill, and repairs where a fast handling bond matters more than long open time. Shop assembly, fixture repair, and general bonding on metal, plastic, and rubber parts are typical uses, especially where the parts do not mate perfectly flush and a thinner adhesive would simply run out of the joint. The colorless, ethyl-cyanoacrylate chemistry cures clear, so it stays out of the way on visible repairs and does not leave a noticeable glue line on finished parts.
Chem-Set CA-2400 Handling and Ordering
The 1 oz bottle weighs about 0.1 lb and is sized for bench use and small production runs, with a controlled-flow tip that limits waste and drips on precision work. This grade sits in the middle of a full cyanoacrylate viscosity lineup that runs from CA 5 thin-bodied grades through CA 30, CA 50, CA 100, CA 500, CA 1000, CA 1500, up to CA 3000, CA 4000, and CA Gel, so a shop that starts with 2400 can move thinner or thicker within the same product family as new jobs come in rather than qualifying an entirely different adhesive line. Keeping one cyanoacrylate family on the shelf across viscosities also simplifies cure-time expectations and storage practices for a shop’s adhesive inventory. Browse cyanoacrylate adhesives to compare viscosities, and see the Adhesive and Sealant Council’s overview of adhesive technologies for background on cyanoacrylate chemistry and cure mechanisms.
