Description
Chem-Set SI1000 Surface Insensitive Cyanoacrylate Adhesive is SI1000 Cyanoacrylate in a 1 oz bottle for fast bonding on dry, acidic, and difficult surfaces. It is used when a standard instant adhesive may cure slowly because the surface chemistry or moisture level is not ideal.
SI1000 Cyanoacrylate Benefits
- Surface-insensitive instant adhesive for dry or acidic parts.
- Useful across many plastics, rubbers, metals, wood, leather, ceramic, and composite surfaces.
- One-part bottle format requires no mixing or static mixer.
- Fast fixture behavior supports repairs, small assemblies, and production touch-up work.
- 1 oz package is easy to keep at benches and maintenance stations.
Use this adhesive on close-fitting parts where a thin bond line can develop quickly. Clean oil, dust, release agents, and loose material before bonding. Apply a small amount, bring parts together, and hold them in position while fixture strength develops. For porous faces, larger gaps, or very slow surfaces, test with a compatible accelerator or primer before a production release. Run a sample bond on production substrates before setting final work instructions.
Common Applications
- Bonding ABS, acrylic, PVC, NBR, neoprene, latex, and other shop materials.
- Repairing small plastic, rubber, leather, wood, and metal assemblies.
- Fast bench bonding where clamps or mixed two-part adhesives would slow the job.
- Touch-up work on signs, fixtures, models, prototypes, and maintenance parts.
