Description

QSil Primer 3UV is a CHT Group one-component silicone adhesion primer with blue tint and UV tracer for easier inspection. The technical data identifies it as a solution of reactive silanes in odorless mineral spirits for use with condensation and addition cure silicone elastomers.

QSil Primer 3UV Applications

  • Priming metals, rubbers, polyester, nylon, and selected non-porous surfaces before silicone bonding.
  • Preparing substrates for addition cure and condensation cure silicone elastomers.
  • Shop procedures that need a visible blue tint and UV tracer to confirm coverage.
  • LED, electronics, potting, sealing, and casting work where primer choice affects silicone adhesion.
  • Maintenance of approved silicone bonding processes that call for CHT or QSil primer chemistry.

The primer leaves a bonding layer after the carrier solvent evaporates. Use it only where testing confirms that the primer, substrate, silicone, and cure schedule work together. Too much primer or poor surface cleaning can reduce consistency, so controlled application matters.

QSil Primer 3UV Handling Notes

Clean the surface so it is dry and free from grease, oil, dust, and release agent. Apply by brush, wipe, spray, or dipping according to the approved process. Let the solvent flash and follow the humidity and cure guidance before applying the silicone.

Because the carrier is a flammable solvent, review storage, ventilation, ignition control, and PPE requirements before placing the primer at a production bench. Keep containers closed when not in use.

QSil Primer 3UV Technical Details

The published data lists one-component use, UV tracer, blue tint, adhesion to metals, rubbers, polyester, and nylon, and compatibility with condensation and addition cure materials. Review current manufacturer information from CHT Group before approving a bonded assembly.
