Description
CONAPOXY FR-1830 is a two-component, mineral-filled, flame-retardant epoxy potting system supplied here as a gallon kit. It is designed for electronic components, modules, circuit boards, assemblies, and related devices that need low viscosity and UL94 V-0 flame performance.
CONAPOXY FR-1830 Benefits
- UL94 V-0 flame rating supports electronic assemblies with documented flame-resistance needs.
- Low mixed viscosity helps material flow into component gaps and around assemblies.
- Non-abrasive filler reduces wear on metering and dispensing equipment.
- 50 minute work life at 25 degrees C gives crews time for careful filling and degassing.
- RoHS compliance supports electronics programs with restricted-substance requirements.
This epoxy is a practical choice for hand-mix bench potting, meter-mix bench potting, and meter-mix vacuum potting. The gallon kit suits production and maintenance programs that need more material than a small evaluation package.
CONAPOXY FR-1830 Applications
- Potting electronic components, modules, circuit boards, and assemblies.
- Encapsulation work where UL94 V-0 and RoHS compliance are part of the review.
- Meter-mix vacuum potting when air removal is needed around electronics.
- Bench casting of devices requiring a low viscosity flame-retardant epoxy.
- Electronic protection projects that need a non-abrasive filled system.
Surface Preparation And Use
Store containers in a dry, controlled environment and keep opened material protected from moisture. Mix and degas individual components before use, and mix the Part A resin until filler is evenly distributed.
Clean and dry parts before filling. Mix the resin and hardener at the specified ratio until uniform, then degas under vacuum when the assembly cannot tolerate trapped air. Confirm work life and cure schedule on the actual fill mass before committing production parts.
Technical Details And Documentation
The FR-1830 technical sheet lists Part A resin viscosity at 14,000 cP, Part B hardener viscosity at 85 cP, 100:20 mix ratio by weight, 2,200 cP initial mixed viscosity, and 50 minute work life at 25 degrees C. Review current product-family information from ELANTAS before production use.
