Description
Specialinsert Deform-Nut Self-Locking Rivet Nut, M6 x 14 mm is a threaded tubular insert for thin materials that need a built-in locking feature. This self-locking rivet nut combines a low-profile head, inclined knurled body, zinc-plated steel construction, and a nylon washer so assemblies can add an M6 thread without relying on loose lock hardware.
Self-Locking Rivet Nut Benefits
- Nylon locking feature helps resist loosening in assemblies exposed to movement and vibration.
- Low-profile head keeps the finished surface flatter than taller flange styles.
- Knurled body helps the insert hold in the parent material after deformation.
- Useful for sheet metal, composites, plastics, and light alloys where cut threads are not practical.
The Deform-Nut TFM/A/ZI installs from one side. Drop the body through a clearance hole, draw the tool, and the knurled shank crimps against the back of the panel to lock a permanent M6 thread. The nylon washer resists vibration loosening on reassembly. Body diameter is 9 mm, length 14 mm, finish is zinc plate over steel. Receiving materials include sheet metal, light alloys, stainless, copper, and thermoplastic or thermosetting composites where cut or tapped threads are not practical.
Common Applications for Self-Locking Rivet Nut
- Creating a reusable M6 thread in thin sheet, composite, or formed metal parts.
- Assemblies that benefit from vibration resistance without a second locking part.
- Service panels, covers, and brackets that are removed and reinstalled during maintenance.
- Production fastening where backside access is limited after assembly.
