Description
Flexane Accelerator is a Devcon additive for Flexane 80 and Flexane 94 urethane repair compounds. It is used when maintenance teams need shorter cure time or when cold conditions make standard Flexane cure timing harder to hold.
Flexane Accelerator Benefits
- Reduces Flexane cure time by 50 percent when used according to the technical data sheet.
- Helps Flexane products cure in temperatures as low as 32 F, or 0 C.
- Supports rubber repair work on belts, rolls, linings, pads, and worn urethane parts.
- 12 oz package is practical for maintenance rooms that already stock Flexane compounds.
- Additive format lets crews adjust cure timing without changing the repair compound family.
This product is not a stand-alone adhesive. Use it as a process aid with compatible Devcon Flexane materials, especially when downtime, low shop temperature, or field repair timing affects the job plan.
Flexane Accelerator Applications
- Speeding Flexane 80 and Flexane 94 repairs on production equipment.
- Maintaining cure schedule during cold shop or field work.
- Repairing rubber-covered rolls, conveyor components, and worn flexible parts.
- Supporting urethane rebuild jobs where return-to-service time matters.
- Maintenance kits for plants that keep Flexane compounds on hand.
Surface Preparation and Use
Prepare the repair area according to the Flexane product data sheet. Remove loose rubber, oil, dirt, moisture, and weak surface material before mixing. Use the correct cleaner and primer for the substrate when the repair procedure requires it.
Measure the additive carefully and mix it into the Flexane compound only as directed by Devcon literature. Extra additive is not a shortcut. Too much can change the cured repair, so follow the published instructions and record the amount used on the work order.
Technical Details and Documentation
ITW Devcon technical data identifies product 15990 as an accelerator for Flexane 80 and Flexane 94 that reduces cure time by 50 percent and helps cure at 32 F. Review current manufacturer information from Devcon before changing a repair procedure.
