Description

Wear Guard Fine Load is a Devcon high-density, micro-alumina ceramic bead-filled epoxy for equipment that handles fine abrasive material. The 30 lb kit is aimed at dust particulate and slurry service where a smooth troweled wear surface helps protect metal parts.

ITW Performance Polymers lists this grade for fine particulate service and notes that it can be troweled to form a smooth surface. Published data also lists a service temperature as high as 300°F, 0.25 in to 1.5 in plus gap fill, and strong resistance to a wide range of chemicals.

Wear Guard Fine Load Handling Notes

Prepare the surface before mixing. Remove loose scale, dust, failed coating, and oil. Abrade the repair area to create profile, then clean the surface again so the compound can bond to sound material. For a 30 lb unit, use proper mixing equipment and fold material until the resin and hardener are uniform.

Apply the compound by trowel and press it into the surface rather than floating it over contamination. Shape the final surface so process material can move without catching a hard edge. Allow full cure before returning the part to load, slurry, heat, or chemical exposure.
