EN1556 amber kit is an ELANTAS CONATHANE two-component polyurethane potting compound for electrical encapsulation, casting, and molding work. The 1 gallon kit is supplied for applications that need an amber, room-temperature curing, 100 percent solids urethane system.

Surface Preparation And Use

Clean housings, cable jackets, connectors, and mold surfaces before mixing. Remove oil, moisture, dust, and release residue that could affect wet-out or adhesion. Confirm the potting volume, cure temperature, and fixture method before opening the kit.

Mix Part A and Part B at the specified ratio until the material is uniform. Degas when void control matters, and test the process on a representative assembly before moving to production quantities.

Published EN-1556 data lists 18,000 cP Part A viscosity, 3,000 cP Part B viscosity, 10,040 cP initial mixed viscosity at 25 C, 60 to 70 minute work life for a 2 lb mass at 25 C, 350 volts per mil dielectric strength by ASTM D149, and 400 percent ultimate elongation by ASTM D412.
