Description
LORD 310 epoxy is a two-part black structural adhesive supplied in a 600 mL cartridge for bonding metals, composites, plastics, and prepared rubber parts. The 310-A resin and 310-B black hardener mix at a 1:1 ratio by volume and cure into a tough paste adhesive for assemblies that need gap filling, impact resistance, and a clean black bond line.
LORD 310 epoxy Benefits
- 1:1 cartridge format supports controlled dispensing through static mixers.
- Black paste appearance helps the bond line blend into dark parts and housings.
- Thixotropic consistency helps keep adhesive in place on vertical or uneven joints.
- Published Parker selector data lists 0.5 to 1 hour work time, 6 to 8 hour handling time, and 24 hour full cure at room temperature.
- High-viscosity paste fills small gaps in structural joints without running out of the bond area.
Use this adhesive for production and repair work where parts need more body than a thin liquid epoxy can provide. It is a practical fit for metal brackets, composite panels, housings, stiffeners, and mixed-material assemblies.
LORD 310 epoxy Applications
- Structural bonding of composites and treated metals.
- Black bond lines on equipment housings, panels, and brackets.
- Cartridge dispensing in shop, maintenance, and field repair kits.
- Assemblies that need a paste adhesive with working time for part placement.
- Bonding programs that already use Parker LORD cartridge tooling and static mixers.
Surface Preparation And Use
Clean both surfaces before dispensing. Remove oil, dust, release agent, loose paint, and oxidation so the adhesive can wet the substrate. Light abrasion followed by a clean wipe is recommended for critical joints, especially on aged metals or composite surfaces.
Attach the correct static mixer, purge until color and flow are uniform, then apply a steady bead. Fixture the parts during handling time and leave the assembly undisturbed until the adhesive has cured enough for the load and service conditions.
Technical Details And Documentation
Parker LORD structural adhesive literature identifies the 310-A and 310-B black system as a 1:1 black paste with typical work time, handling time, and full-cure timing listed above. Review current manufacturer information from Parker LORD before approving production use.
