Description
LORD 459X is an adhesion enhancer and surface modifier formulated to promote adhesion to thermoplastic elastomers, thermoplastic polyolefins and EPDM. It is supplied in xylene solvent and diluted for direct application.
LORD 459X can be used with LORD acrylic adhesives, urethane adhesives and epoxy structural adhesives, as well as a variety of double-sided tapes. It is designed for low dry film weight application and does not require dilution before use.

Performance in Production
- Promotes adhesion to difficult-to-bond elastomers, including TPE, TPO and EPDM.
- Can improve adhesion of coatings, double-sided tapes and adhesives.
- Low viscosity supports brush, dip or spray application.
- No dilution is required before use.
- Very low dry film weight is required for adhesion enhancement.
- Air-dries in 30–60 minutes at room temperature with good air flow.
- Oven drying at 200–250°F for 5–10 minutes may be used.
- A heat cycle generally improves adhesion.
- Wet material can be removed with a dry cloth wipe.
- Dried material can be removed with xylene or a ketone-type solvent.
- For industrial and commercial use only by trained personnel.
