Description
This is the black 200ml cartridge of LORD 7545-A/B, part number 3023630. It pairs the production size with a dark bond line, which is the combination you want when squeeze-out shows on the finished part and you are building more than a handful of them. Mixed 1:1 by volume, 3 to 5 minute work time, handling strength at 30 minutes, identical to the off-white. Bonds FRP, SMC and other plastics with little surface preparation, plus primed metals and dissimilar substrates. Made in the USA.
Black, at Production Volume
The black curative exists for visible joints on dark parts, where off-white squeeze-out reads as a defect and costs you a cleanup pass on every unit. At 50ml that cleanup is an annoyance. At production volume it is labor you are paying for repeatedly, which is the real case for buying black in the 200ml rather than fixing the appearance downstream. Performance is unchanged, so there is no trade to weigh.

How Far a 200ml Cartridge Goes
| Bead Diameter | Linear Feet per Cartridge |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in (3 mm) | 82.5 ft (25.15 m) |

Running the 200ml in Production
- Takes a 1:1 gun built for 200ml side by side cartridges. The Newborn VR200XSP is what we stock. A 50ml gun will not hold it.
- Needs a static mixer with at least 24 elements, Parker’s minimum for 200 mL dispense. The Medmix MCQ 08-24T has 24.
- Black gives you a visual mix check the off-white does not. Under-mixed material comes out streaked rather than uniformly dark, so the purge bead tells you immediately whether the mixer is doing its job.
- A 3 to 5 minute work time means you will not empty the cartridge in one pass. Dispense, set the part, leave the mixer on to seal it, and come back.
- Level the plungers and purge a mixer’s length before the first usable bead. The purge is longer on a 24 element tip than a 20.
- Target a 0.010 to 0.040 in bondline. Larger gaps can be filled where mating surfaces are irregular.
- Clean tools with acetone or MEK before cure, never alcohol. Black cured squeeze-out is harder to hide than off-white, so stay ahead of it while the material is wet.
Common Applications
- Batch production of black or dark-painted FRP and SMC assemblies
- Truck cap, tonneau cover and running board production on black components
- Channel letter and dimensional sign runs with dark returns and faces
- Cross bonding dark plastics and composites to primed or e-coated metal
- Marine and recreational vehicle panels where the joint stays visible
- Bonding ribs, bosses, stiffeners and inserts where squeeze-out shows
- Longer vertical and overhead seams on dark substrates

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the black version perform differently than the off-white?
No. Parker publishes the same 3 to 5 minute work time and 30 minute handling strength for both the off-white and black 7545-B curatives, both running 1:1 off the same 7545-A resin. Color is cosmetic.
How much adhesive is in a 200ml cartridge, and how far does it go?
200 mL of total mixed material, roughly 82.5 linear feet at a 1/8 in bead, 20.7 ft at 1/4 in and 9.3 ft at 3/8 in, minus a mixer’s length of purge. That is four times a 50ml at about the same purge loss.
Can I use my 50ml gun and mixer on this cartridge?
No to both. This needs a 200ml gun and a 24 element static mixer rather than the 20 element tip a 50ml uses. Running a 20 element mixer on a 200ml risks under-mixed material, which is the usual cause of a bead that never fully cures.
How long do I have to work with it once it is mixed?
3 to 5 minutes at 75°F. Parker’s instruction is to discard the part if working time is exceeded, because a skinned bead will not wet the mating surface. Handling strength is 30 minutes, full cure 24 hours, and a cooler shop extends all three.
What sizes does the black come in?
Black is offered in 50ml, 200ml and 400ml, the full range. Off-white stops at 200ml, so black is the only way to get a 400ml cartridge of 7545-A/B.
What is the shelf life, and how should cartridges be stored?
8 months from date of manufacture unopened, stored at 65 to 85°F (18 to 30°C). The 7545-A resin is moisture sensitive, so keep cartridges in the Mylar bag with the desiccant and run inventory first in, first out.
