Description

LORD Accelerator 20GB is the mix-in curative that turns LORD 810 Low Read-Through acrylic resin into a working structural adhesive. It is not a standalone glue. It is the second half of a two-part system, supplied here in a straight-side stainless steel pail with a matte black finish so shops running high volume can keep both halves of the 810/20GB system on hand without juggling small cartridges.

### Where This Structural Adhesive Accelerator Fits

Metal-to-metal and metal-to-plastic assembly lines use this accelerator wherever LORD 810 needs to cure fast with a controlled bondline. Aluminum, galvanized steel, cold rolled steel, and engineered plastics like PC-ABS all take the 810/20GB combination well, which is why it shows up on production lines building enclosures, panels, and structural sub-assemblies where read-through (surface distortion from the adhesive telegraphing through thin sheet) has to stay low. Embedded glass microbeads in the accelerator set bondline thickness at 0.01 in (0.025 cm), so operators are not guessing at clamp pressure to hit spec.

### How the Structural Adhesive System Holds Up

Cured with LORD 810, the resulting bond runs room-temperature cure, contains no solvent, and is non-flammable and virtually odorless in the shop. The accelerator also improves high-temperature resistance across LORD’s 200, 400, and 800 series acrylics, so lines that qualify one adhesive system for several product lines get a wider working-temperature window without reformulating. Because this is a pure curative, its own cure and strength numbers only apply once mixed with the resin side.
