Description
The Techcon Delrin microvalve in the TS5000 6W 8P configuration uses Delrin acetal resin for the material path components, offering broad chemical compatibility for adhesives, solvents, aqueous solutions, and other chemistries where metal material paths would degrade. The 8-pitch rotor in the 6-watt motor series delivers positive-displacement dispensing with good throughput for medium-viscosity formulations. Delrin also offers lower rebuild cost compared to heat treated tool steel, making it a practical choice for higher-turnover maintenance programs.
Where the Techcon Delrin microvalve fits in production
Delrin material paths find their place in applications where fluid chemistry rules out metal-path valves. Cyanoacrylate adhesives, UV-curable adhesives, aqueous coatings, and certain chlorinated-solvent-based primers can interact with stainless steel over time. Electronics assembly operations that dispense non-abrasive adhesives in small shots, and laboratory environments running a broad range of adhesive chemistry, frequently use Delrin path valves. The 8-pitch rotor delivers larger shot volumes per rotation than the 16-pitch variant, making it a fit for medium deposits and higher-viscosity materials within the Delrin compatibility range. Where abrasives are absent and chemistry compatibility drives the selection, Delrin reduces rebuild cost and extends maintenance cycles.
How the Techcon Delrin microvalve performs
Like all TS5000-series valves, this configuration uses a rotating auger feed screw for positive displacement, decoupling shot volume from upstream fluid pressure. The Delrin rotor and path components accept a broad range of adhesive chemistries, and the acetal construction is naturally low-friction, which reduces torque demand for free-flowing materials. The 6-watt motor provides sufficient torque for materials through medium viscosity. Shot sizes down to 0.010 inch diameter are achievable at up to 5 shots per second, and continuous beads from 0.010 to 0.050 inch wide at up to 4 inches per second are within range. The valve integrates with standard Techcon controllers and compatible robot-mount hardware.
