Description
Permabond UV610 is a single-part, UV curable adhesive built for bonding glass to metal. The formula is a methacrylate ester that stays liquid until struck by UV light, then locks down in seconds under a curing lamp. That cure-on-demand behavior makes it a fit for glass furniture edge joints, glass-to-metal display frames, and other assemblies where a fast, clean bond line matters more than open working time.
Where Permabond UV610 Is Used
Shops building glass furniture use it to create high-strength edge joints between glass panels, since the cured adhesive is translucent and holds up under load without a visible bond line. Sign and display fabricators use it to set glass into metal frames and brackets, and general manufacturing lines use it wherever a UV lamp is already part of the workflow and clamping is not practical. Because it is 100% solids with no solvents, there is no shrinkage or outgassing to account for during cure.
How Permabond UV610 Performs
Fixture time runs seconds under a low power lamp, and full cure follows once the lamp passes over the full bond line, so parts can move to the next station almost immediately. Shear strength on steel to glass joints reaches 1900 to 2300 psi (13 to 16 N per mm squared), and the cured adhesive stays flexible enough to handle the elongation and thermal cycling glass to metal joints see in the field. Excellent adhesion to both metal and glass means primers usually are not needed on clean, degreased surfaces.
