Description
CHT QLE 1050 is a one-part silicone encapsulant for conformal coating on printed circuit boards and cloth coating applications. The 100 percent solids material is translucent, heat cured, and supplied as a ready-to-use single component, which removes the ratio-control step required by two-part QLE coating grades. Use it when the process needs a thin protective silicone coating that can follow board contours, component edges, and fabric texture while maintaining a flexible cured film.
Where This Encapsulant Fits
QLE 1050 fits electronics work where a silicone conformal coating is preferred over a rigid potting compound. A conformal coating covers the board surface and delicate wiring as a thin layer, helping protect the assembly from moisture, vibration, and environmental exposure while leaving the board profile visible. Because QLE 1050 is transparent and suitable for pigmentation, it also works where inspection or color coding is part of the production plan. Cloth coating is the secondary use case, especially when a flexible silicone film is needed on a textile or fabric surface.
The current CHT technical data sheet describes QLE 1050 as a one-component, translucent, heat-cured addition cure coating. That makes staging and oven capacity important. Operators can avoid mixing errors, but the assembly still needs the correct film thickness, cure temperature, and fixture handling to produce repeatable results.
How QLE 1050 Supports Coating Control
Before coating, clean the board or fabric, mask connector areas that must remain open, and confirm that every component in the assembly can tolerate the selected heat cure. Apply an even film by the qualified method, let the coating level, then cure without disturbing the wet surface. For electronics, inspect around tall components, wire exits, and board edges because thin spots in those areas can reduce coverage.
