Description
TensorGrip P809 is a CA compliant crosslinking contact adhesive for bonding vinyl, rubber, plastics, aluminum, FRP, GRP, sheeting, and standard laminate. The canister spray format supports shop and field work where a permanent contact bond and fast application speed are both needed.
TensorGrip P809 Benefits
- Crosslinking cure builds a permanent bond on vinyl and plasticized surfaces.
- Plasticizer resistance helps reduce bond failure on flexible vinyl and rubber parts.
- Spray canister delivery covers large panels faster than brush or roller application.
- Moisture-cure chemistry can bond damp surfaces when the application allows it.
- Open time gives installers a practical window before mating substrates.
This product fits fabrication teams that bond decorative materials subject to plasticizer migration. It is often selected for vinyl, rubber, laminate, FRP, GRP, and aluminum work where a standard contact adhesive may not hold up to heat, water, oil, fuel, or flexible plastic movement.
Common Applications For TensorGrip P809
- Vinyl upholstery, wall covering, and decorative surface bonding
- Rubber-to-metal or rubber-to-panel assembly in vehicle and shop builds
- Standard laminate bonding in countertop and casework fabrication
- FRP and GRP panel attachment in transportation or industrial interiors
- Aluminum sheet and plastic component bonding where spray coverage saves labor
Surface Preparation And Use
Surfaces should be clean, dry enough for the process, and free of oil, loose dust, and release agents. Apply adhesive to both mating surfaces at 80 to 100 percent coverage. Let the adhesive flash until it is just slightly sticky before bringing parts together.
The product data sheet gives a 3 to 5 minute typical flash window and warns not to wait longer than 20 minutes before mating. Apply as much pressure as practical across the whole bond area, especially at edges and corners where lift can start.
Technical Details And Documentation
Quin Global data identifies P809 as part of the TensorGrip industrial range with listed substrates including vinyl, metal and aluminum, FRP, GRP, sheeting, and standard laminate. The data sheet also notes heat resistance over 300 F and bond strength sufficient for trimming within one to two hours, with final strength in 1 to 3 days. Dispensing And Ordering Help
Plan the matching hose, spray gun, and tip before ordering a canister system. Keep the spray tip clean between uses because crosslinking contact adhesives can cure in the tip. Browse related contact cement adhesives for other canister and spray-grade options.
