Description
Tensorgrip M30 infusion adhesive is a mist-spray product developed to hold fiberglass reinforcement and structural core materials in position during marine resin infusion. It is formulated for processes using polyester, vinyl ester, and styrene resins, where an ordinary tack adhesive can create resin-flow restrictions or surface defects.
Built for Fiberglass Infusion Layups
M30 gives fabricators a controlled way to secure dry reinforcement before the vacuum bag and resin system are introduced. A light coat helps fiberglass material stay where it was placed while the rest of the laminate is built. The manufacturer directs users to apply a sparing coat to a clean, dry surface, allow it to become slightly tacky, place the fiberglass, and then continue the normal composite build and infusion sequence. The product is designed to become part of the polymer matrix rather than acting as a separate thick bond line.
This application profile fits boatbuilding and other composite shops that work with fiberglass mat, woven reinforcement, and core materials. The portable canister system also helps crews move the spray point to large molds without relying on a fixed pumping installation.
Application and Handling
The current manufacturer data sheet identifies a 2 to 4 minute dry time that varies with temperature and humidity. Recommended operating temperature is 60°F to 100°F. Apply only enough adhesive to create the temporary hold and do not wet out the reinforcement with adhesive. After placement, complete the composite layup, allow it to cure normally, and proceed with vacuum infusion.
Keep the canister warm enough to spray consistently. When the hose and gun remain connected, the canister valve should stay open and the gun should be closed and locked between uses. For a canister change, close the valve, spray out the material left in the hose, and connect the line to the replacement canister or the specified cleaning solvent. Consult the current SDS and shop ventilation requirements before use.
