Description
Weld-On 4052 is a medium-bodied, fast set solvent cement for joining plastic sheet and profile. The cement carries a slight amber tint in the can, but a thin, properly applied layer dries clear, so seams disappear on finished parts. Formulated to meet low VOC requirements, it fits shops that need a workhorse bonding cement without the solvent load of older formulas.
Where Weld-On 4052 Is Used
Fabricators reach for this cement across a wide range of plastic substrates, including PVC, CPVC, foamed PVC, ABS, acrylic, styrene, polycarbonate, and NORYL. Sign and display shops use it for edge and lap joints on sheet stock, and general manufacturing lines use it for assembly work where a fast, dependable bond matters more than long open time. Parts should be clean, dry, and fit well before the cement goes on, since the solvent action depends on close contact between surfaces.
How Weld-On 4052 Performs
Working time runs about 15 minutes from application, with fixture time in the 20 to 25 minute range once parts are set. Bonded assemblies reach 80% of ultimate strength at 72 hours, with full cure continuing afterward. Apply with a brush, a polyethylene squeeze bottle, or another applicator suited to the joint, and assemble while the cement is still wet so the solvent can carry into both surfaces.
