Description
The Techcon TT14 rigid taper tip is a 14 gauge dispensing needle molded in opaque polypropylene, packed as a production case of 1000. The tapered profile is the workhorse format for medium and high viscosity fluids. The bore widens steadily behind the orifice, so material flows with far less back pressure than a straight stainless needle of the same gauge, and adhesives, sealants, greases, and pastes that fight a straight tip move through a taper smoothly and cut off cleanly between shots.
A Rigid Dispensing Needle for Automated Work
Techcon builds the TT series in two constructions. The standard version is polyethylene with a UV block additive. This rigid version is molded in stiffer polypropylene with an opaque wall that shields light sensitive fluids, and it is the one to run on automated and robotic lines because the tip does not deflect as the head moves between deposit points. A tip that stays put means the deposit lands where the program says it will, shot after shot. The smooth internal path reduces turbulence, keeps air from entraining in the fluid, and the flash free orifice releases material without stringing or drips. The series is silicone and chloride free and rated to 100 psi (6.9 bar).

The 14 gauge bore sits at the high flow end of the range, suited to thick adhesives, RTV silicones, epoxies, and greases where deposit volume matters more than fine line width. Typical work includes bonding beads on housings, gasket beads on covers, dots for trim attachment, and fill shots into potting cavities. Because color coding follows the industry standard, olive always signals 14 gauge on the bench and reordering stays simple across brands. The threaded luer lock hub seats on standard barrel adapters and holds under pressure cycling that would pop a slip fit tip loose.
Running a Full Case
Tapered tips are consumables. Lines change them on a schedule because partially cured material narrows the bore and shifts deposit size, and a case of 1000 keeps a multi shift operation from rationing tips or pausing for resupply. Store the case away from direct sun and heat, and treat tips as single material parts rather than cleaning and reusing them, since solvent flushing rarely restores the original bore. If the bench also runs two component cartridges, we carry every mixing nozzle format, from a 2 part mixing nozzle for structural adhesives to JB Weld mixing nozzle compatible replacements, plus every dispensing tip style in the Techcon range.
