UltraLok 560 Structural Adhesive SmartPak, 1200 mL

Description

Structural adhesive for long or complex assemblies needs a working window that supports complete bead placement and deliberate fixture setup. UltraLok 560 is a two-part methacrylate adhesive in a 1200 mL, 1:1 SmartPak with two mixing tips. It is designed for fiberglass, steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and various plastics other than low-surface-energy materials. The extended open time suits large panels, multi-point fixtures, and production work where teams must align several features before clamping.

Where structural adhesive fits

UL560 supports specialty vehicle bodies, marine components, sign structures, metal fabrications, composite panels, enclosures, and general manufacturing assemblies. It bonds strongly to common structural metals and can join mixed substrates when each surface has been qualified. The exact technical data identifies a 50 to 65 minute working time at room temperature, allowing crews to stage larger parts without racing a short cure. It reaches nearly 90 percent of ultimate strength in the documented 140 to 180 minute interval under room-temperature conditions.

Use a representative trial to confirm the coating, plastic grade, surface preparation, joint thickness, and service exposure. Remove oil, dirt, oxidation, loose coating, and moisture before dispensing. Low-surface-energy plastics are outside the stated fit. UL560 is also not UV stable and will yellow over time, so it should not create an imperceptible countertop seam or another exposed cosmetic bond line. That appearance change does not necessarily reduce bond performance, but it matters in visible applications.

Processing structural adhesive

Place the two 600 mL pouches in the compatible 1200 mL SmartPak gun, connect the manifold, and install the specified 1:1 mixer. Follow the work instruction for balancing the components, then dispense a short test bead and inspect it for a uniform mix. Apply the adhesive within the planned sequence, assemble the parts before the working window closes, and hold the joint at the designed thickness through fixture. Do not disturb the assembly while handling strength develops.

Replace a mixer that contains cured material rather than forcing product through a blocked element. Keep pouch outlets and manifold surfaces clean during changeovers. Provide ventilation and use the personal protective equipment stated in the current SDS. The foil-pouch format reduces rigid packaging and provides roughly three 400 mL cartridge equivalents per setup, helping high-volume work cells reduce stoppages while retaining portable dispensing.
