Description
UltraLok UL4005 is a two-part structural methacrylate adhesive designed for bonding metals, composites, plastics, and fiberglass. This 500mL cartridge is suited for production environments requiring fast handling strength and gap-filling capability.
With a 4–6 minute working time and 15–20 minute fixture time at 75°F, UL4005 is commonly used in fabricated metal sign assemblies, including galvanized steel channel letters. It is frequently selected as an alternative to spot welding in sign frame construction.

Performance and Use
-
Bonds steel, stainless steel, aluminum, fiberglass, plastics, and composites
-
Suitable for galvanized steel commonly used in channel letter fabrication
-
Provides high impact strength
-
Designed for structural bonding applications
-
Generally requires little to no surface preparation
-
Excellent resistance to hydrocarbons, acids, bases, vinegar, and salt solutions
-
Susceptible to polar solvents and super strong acids and bases
Installation and Handling Notes
-
Surfaces must be mated within the 4–6 minute working time
-
All fixturing and clamping must occur before working time expires
-
Avoid over clamping to prevent adhesive starvation
-
Apply between 65°F and 85°F for proper cure
-
Large mass mixing generates heat. Spread adhesive to no more than 0.50″ thickness to control exotherm
-
Shelf life is 12 months at 77°F
Refer to the Technical Data Sheet and Safety Data Sheet for full handling guidance
