Devcon® Flexane® High Performance Putty

This high performance putty is well suited for trowelable lining, offering maximum protection against wear due to abrasion, gouging and impact.

Some suggested uses:

• Protect equipment surfaces from wear and abrasion.
• Protect processing equipment such as coating hoppers, lining chutes, pump volutes, impellers, and fan housings.

A few key features of Devcon Flexane High Performance Putty:

• Lines and protects processing equipment and repairs rubber parts in the most aggressive environments.
• Cures to a tough (tear strength 400 pli), resilient rubber compound (Hardness 78 Shore A).
• Bonds to metal, rubber, wood, fiberglass, and concrete.
• Used with Flexane® Primers for maximum adhesion.

Surface preparation suggestions for maximizing the use of Devcon Flexane Putty:

1. Clean the area that is to be repaired, rebuilt or lined. One product that’s great for this need is Devcon Cleaner Blend 300 (more on this versatile product below.) All oil, grease and dirt must be removed before applying Flexane material.
2. All surfaces must be roughened by grinding with a coarse wheel or an abrasive disc pad. For maximum adhesion,  sandblast the application surface using an angular abrasive to achieve a minimum depth profile of 2-3 mils.
3. Blast to near white finish specification SSPC-SP5 (Steel Structure Painting Council).
4. After sandblasting application surface should be primed immediately to prevent oxidation.

Devcon Cleaner Blend 300

Devcon Cleaner Blend 300 is a safe, multi-purpose degreaser that’s excellent for use in dealing with heavy grease and oil deposits on metal. It’s great to remove dirt, oil, tar, and grease.

This cleaner blend is best suited for use on:

• Any metal surfaces, alloys and porous castings
• Rubber surfaces, plastics, wood and concrete surfaces

• Needs no rinsing; leaves no residue.
• Evaporates quickly.
