Description
The MIXPAC MA5.4-17S Static Mixer is a disposable helical mixing nozzle for 50 mL and 75 mL two-component cartridges with a bayonet connection. Its 5.4 mm internal diameter and 17 mixing elements provide a defined flow path for combining compatible adhesives and sealants before the material reaches the workpiece. The stepped outlet can be trimmed to increase the opening when a larger bead or lower dispensing resistance is needed.
Where the Mixer Fits
This mixer is designed for 1:1 and 2:1 dual cartridges that use the matching bayonet interface. It works well at assembly benches, repair stations, prototype areas, and field installations where a fresh mixer is installed for each cartridge session. Typical jobs include bonding panels, filling gaps, placing structural adhesive into joints, and applying two-part sealants. Always confirm the cartridge outlet, ratio, and material supplier recommendation before production use. A nozzle can physically attach yet still be unsuitable if the adhesive requires a different element geometry, retained volume, or back pressure.
MIXPAC MA5.4-17S Static Mixer Details
Seventeen stationary helical elements repeatedly divide and recombine the two material streams as the components move down the nozzle. This passive process requires no powered mixing mechanism. The natural polypropylene housing contains white elements, and the approximately 104 mm overall length gives the material a controlled mixing path while keeping the nozzle practical for hand-held cartridge dispensing. Retained volume is about 1.68 mL, an important planning figure when estimating purge material and changeover waste.

Before dispensing, seat the mixer fully on the cartridge and lock the bayonet connection. Purge the initial material according to the adhesive supplier’s instructions so the bead shows a uniform color and texture. Cut the stepped tip only as much as the required bead demands because a larger opening changes flow resistance and application control. Replace the nozzle whenever material begins to cure inside it, dispensing force rises unexpectedly, or a work interruption exceeds the adhesive’s usable time. Never force partially cured material through the cartridge system.
