Description
UltraLok 406 is a flexibilized 5 minute methacrylate that bonds steel, stainless, aluminum, galvanized, ABS, PVC, and composites without extensive surface prep. The 415 mL cartridge is the production size. If you are running channel letters, ACM panels, brackets, or panel assemblies through a shop every day, this is the package that keeps the line moving and the cost per bond down.
Two static mixers ship with each cartridge. The adhesive is the same chemistry as the 50 mL cartridge, so a shop can qualify a joint on the small size and move to the 415 for production without requalifying the bond.

Not for low surface energy plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene. Run a bond trial on your actual substrates and surface condition before releasing a joint to production.

Dispensing the 415 mL Cartridge
The 415 mL runs in a 400 mL class 4:1 cartridge gun, manual or pneumatic. Two mixers ship with the cartridge. Order spares with the adhesive so a run is never held up waiting on a nozzle, and leave the cured mixer on the cartridge between uses to cap it.

Common Questions
How does the 415 mL compare to the 50 mL?
Same adhesive, same 4:1 ratio, same cured properties. The 415 mL costs less per mL and needs a 400 mL class gun. The 50 mL is for trials, repairs, and low volume work where a large cartridge would expire before it got used.
Does it need primer or surface prep?
No primer. Clean, dry, and free of oil is enough for most metals and rigid plastics. Abrading helps on glossy or heavily coated surfaces. Confirm on your own parts, since mill oils and release agents vary by supplier.
How should it be stored?
Cool and dry, out of direct sun, in the original cartridge with the caps or a cured mixer in place. Shelf life is 365 days from manufacture. Warm material sets faster, so a cartridge left in a hot truck will give you less working time than the published range.
Is it approved for food contact?
Cured UltraLok 406 resists hydrocarbons, mild acids and bases, vinegar, wine, and common household foods. That is chemical resistance, not a food contact approval. Ask us before specifying it into a food contact application.
