Description
The Albion 258 spatula combines a 1-1/2 inch wide tip with a 10 inch straight stainless steel blade for tooling, smoothing, and finishing sealant joints. The hardwood handle gives the user a familiar grip, while the ground blade flexes across joint faces and transitions. A polished surface reduces drag as the tool moves over wet material and makes solvent cleanup more straightforward. The balanced format adds control without a bulky plastic grip.
Where This Tool Works
The 258-10SL is suited to glazing, firestopping, concrete joints, log-home chinking, marine sealing, construction, countertop fabrication, and general shop finishing. Its long blade reaches across wider beads and recessed areas where a short putty knife can force an awkward wrist angle. The 1-1/2 inch tip is also useful for shaping broad joints and feathering material along an edge.

Use the blade with the sealant manufacturer’s approved tooling agent or solvent. Keep the working edge clean during the job so cured fragments do not score the finish. Draw the tool at a consistent angle and pressure, removing excess material in stages when a joint is heavily filled. After use, clean the stainless blade before the residue cures, wipe the handle dry, and store the spatula where the edge will not be bent.
This model contains no plastic blade components and can be paired with other widths and lengths from the 258 Classic line.
