Description
Araldite 2012 hardener is the hardener side used with ARALDITE AW 2104 resin in Huntsman’s rapid two-component epoxy adhesive system. The system is listed for room-temperature cure, high strength, good toughness, and bonding of metals, ceramics, glass, rubber, wood, and rigid plastics.
Araldite 2012 hardener Benefits
- Completes the ARALDITE 2012 adhesive set when paired with the correct resin.
- Fast room-temperature cure supports repair, assembly, and fixture work.
- Two-part epoxy format gives shops measured control over mixed adhesive.
- Broad substrate fit supports mixed-material industrial assemblies.
- Technical data support helps engineers qualify the system before use.
Do not substitute this hardener into unrelated epoxy systems. Use it only with the matching ARALDITE 2012 resin and confirm all current Huntsman documents before changing a released bonding process.
Araldite 2012 hardener Applications
- Industrial adhesive kits built around ARALDITE 2012 resin and hardener.
- Metal, glass, ceramic, and rigid plastic bonding after proper preparation.
- Repair work that needs a fast-curing epoxy adhesive.
- Fixture bonding and small assemblies in manufacturing cells.
- Maintenance stock for existing ARALDITE 2012 procedures.
Surface Preparation and Use
Start with clean, dry, sound substrates. Remove grease, sanding dust, and release agents, then abrade surfaces when the material and specification allow it. Keep the hardener container closed when not in use to reduce contamination.
Measure and mix with the matching resin exactly as the current technical data sheet directs. Scrape the sides of the cup or use the specified mixer to avoid unmixed material that can leave soft spots in the bond line.
Technical Details and Documentation
Huntsman lists ARALDITE 2012-1 as a 2K structural epoxy adhesive with fast curing, room-temperature cure, temperature resistance, and multi-substrate adhesion. Review the current product record from Huntsman before production use.
