Description

Chem-Set UV 386 is a single-part, light-cure adhesive packaged in a 50 mL syringe for bonding glass, metal, and rigid plastics where a fast, optically clear cure is needed. This adhesive cures on demand when exposed to UV-A or UV-LED light in the 365 to 405 nm range, eliminating mix ratios, pot life, and the wait time that two-part epoxies impose on production. Operators load the syringe, dispense to placement, hit the bondline with a cure light, and move on.

Where Chem-Set UV 386 fits

UV-cure adhesives belong on lines that need a clear bondline and a cure time measured in seconds. Typical placements include glass-to-metal fixturing in lighting assemblies, optical component bonding for sensor and camera modules, jewelry and stone repair, point-of-purchase display fabrication where bondlines are visible, dental and medical fixture spot-cures, and any application where exposed-bond aesthetics rule out cloudy epoxies or solvent-based cements. The 50 mL syringe format is sized for benchtop production cells that consume one to two tubes per shift.

Chem-Set UV 386 cure equipment and process

Pair this adhesive with a 385 to 400 nm flashlight or a bench UV cure station for hand-built assemblies, or a conveyorized UV system for higher-volume production. At least one substrate must transmit UV for full through-cure. For shadowed joints, post-cure with a heat dwell or specify a dual-cure adhesive instead.
