Description
Chem-Set 605 acrylic adhesive is a clear, two-part methacrylate system for structural bonding of plastics, metals, composites, and countertop hardware. The 50 mL 1:1 cartridge meters adhesive and activator into a compatible static mixer, producing a non-sag gel that stays in the joint during assembly. Its short working and fixture times support sink-anchor installation, panel bonding, repairs, and production tasks that need handling strength without a long clamp cycle.
Bonding Plastics, Metals, and Countertop Hardware
The adhesive is recommended for ABS, acrylic, FRP, gelcoat, PVC, polyester, styrenics, urethanes, vinyl ester, carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. It also fits solid-surface and engineered-stone fabrication when bonding undermount sink anchors and related fixtures. Metal surfaces may require a suitable primer where oxidation or service exposure could limit durability. Every substrate and joint design should be tested under the expected temperature, chemical, load, and environmental conditions.
Fast 1:1 Cartridge Application
Bring the cartridge to a stable shop temperature, load it into a compatible 50 mL dispenser, and attach a 1:1 static mixer. Purge a small amount until both components are flowing evenly, then apply enough material to fill the joint. Complete dispensing, positioning, and fixturing within the working time. Published working time is 3 to 6 minutes at 74 degrees F, with fixture strength in approximately 12 to 15 minutes. Keep the parts undisturbed until fixture time is reached, and remove uncured squeeze-out before the material hardens.

Use clean, properly prepared surfaces and control the bond-line thickness. The rapid reaction can generate heat when large masses are mixed, so dispense only what the joint requires and stay within the stated gap range. Keep the cartridge away from heat, sparks, and open flame, and follow the current SDS for gloves, eye protection, ventilation, storage, and disposal. Browse Chemical Concepts structural adhesives for alternate cure speeds and package sizes.
