Description
The 10-24 female bonding fastener adds a threaded mounting point to a panel without drilling through the visible face or applying welding heat. This Specialinsert F1 configuration combines a female 10-24 nut with a 38 mm round base made from zinc-plated steel. The broad base gives adhesive a useful bonding area and distributes the attachment load across the substrate. It supports both through-hole and blind-hole assembly layouts when matched with suitable hardware and adhesive.
Applications for Bonded Threaded Attachments
Use the fastener on metal, composite, fiberglass, plastic, stone, or finished panels where a concealed mechanical connection is preferred. Typical applications include access covers, interior panels, signs, equipment housings, marine assemblies, transportation components, countertop hardware, and light brackets. The female thread accepts a compatible 10-24 screw, making alignment straightforward during final assembly and allowing the attached component to be removed for service. This removable connection can simplify inspection, component replacement, and panel access while keeping the opposite face free from visible holes or weld marks during service.
Bonding and Installation Guidance
Prepare the base and substrate according to the selected adhesive system. Remove contamination, abrade when appropriate, and keep the bond line controlled across the round plate. Fixture the fastener in its final position until the adhesive reaches handling strength. Adhesive selection depends on substrate, surface treatment, expected load, service temperature, moisture exposure, and production cycle. Validate the complete assembly under representative conditions before full production.
