Substrate failure means the material broke before the bond did. A metal cleaner conditioner is recommended on aluminum and stainless.

Dispensing This Package
Load the cartridge into the gun and remove the end caps. Attach the static mixer and expel a mixer’s length of adhesive before applying. Mate the parts within the working time, then leave them undisturbed until fixture time is reached.
Surface Preparation
Plastics and coated metals usually need only a wipe with a dry rag or light solvent. Raw metal is the same, though results vary with oxidation and scaling. Composites can often be bonded as-is, or lightly abraded to remove mold release. Test your own materials to confirm.
Working Notes
- Static mixing removes hand-mix variability, which matters when bond strength has to be consistent across multiple points.
- Cure rate is temperature sensitive. A cold shop nearly doubles the time to 1,000 psi compared to a warm one.
- Bond line thickness of 0.015 to 0.030 in gives optimum adhesion. Thicker is not stronger.
- Cap the cartridge between uses and change the mixer. Material cures inside a used mixer.
- Non-sagging gel holds position on vertical and overhead bond lines.
- Do not dispense large masses at once. Peak exotherm runs near 320°F on a 10 g mass.
- Clean up before the adhesive cures. Soap and water, citrus terpene, or NMP-based cleaners all work.
- Bulk dispensing equipment should be stainless steel. Avoid brass, copper, and copper-containing alloys.
