Description
Chem-Set™ CA500 is a medium-viscosity, fast-curing cyanoacrylate adhesive designed for general-purpose bonding across a wide range of industrial, manufacturing, and repair applications. With a viscosity of approximately 500 cP, CA500 offers the ideal balance between flow and control, making it suitable for moderate gap filling while still allowing penetration into closely fitted parts.
As the most versatile adhesive in the Chem-Set cyanoacrylate family, CA500 bridges the gap between ultra-thin wicking grades and high-viscosity gap fillers. It delivers rapid fixture times, strong bond strength, and reliable performance on both similar and dissimilar substrates including plastics, rubbers, metals, composites, and wood.
CA500 is also commonly used in stone fabrication environments as a medium-set cyanoacrylate for chip repair and surface restoration. Its controlled flow allows fabricators to repair small to moderate chips, nicks, and gouges while maintaining a clean cosmetic finish.

Technical Properties
Physical Properties of Uncured Adhesive
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Chemical Type | Ethyl Cyanoacrylate |
| Appearance | Clear |
| Viscosity @ 25°C | ~500 cP |
| Specific Gravity | 1.06 |
Typical Cure Performance at 25°C
| Substrate | Fixture Time |
|---|---|
| Steel | <18 seconds |
| Aluminum | <15 seconds |
| Neoprene | <4 seconds |
| ABS | <8 seconds |
| PVC | <5 seconds |
| Lexan (Polycarbonate) | <25 seconds |
