Description

CHT QSil Primer #3 UV prepares metal, plastic, and composite surfaces for silicone bonding, and the blue UV tracer shows exactly where it went. Under a UV lamp the primed area fluoresces, so inspectors confirm full coverage before potting or sealing begins. The primer is a one-component solution of reactive silanes in mineral spirits that flashes off at room temperature and leaves a bond-ready layer behind. The 1 gallon pail supplies production lines that prime parts all day.

Where QSil Primer #3 UV Belongs

Use it ahead of most silicone elastomers, both addition cure and condensation cure systems. Electronics potting, LED display encapsulation, formed-in-place gaskets, and silicone-to-substrate seals all bond more reliably when the silicone has a primed surface to grab. Applying QSil Primer #3 UV

Start with a clean, dry, contaminant-free surface, solvent-wiped where the substrate allows. Brush, wipe, spray, or dip to a thin film near 0.5 mil. Let the primer dry 30 minutes at room temperature with relative humidity above 40 percent, since the silanes need ambient moisture to react. Bond within 24 hours of priming and keep the part clean in the meantime.
