Description
This door safety switch is the component that senses whether the TS6500 cartridge mixer’s protective enclosure is fully closed before the mixing cycle is allowed to run. It is one of the dispenser parts built into the TS6500’s safety system alongside the two-hand start and emergency stop button, and it is the part that actually stops the machine from cycling with the enclosure open.
Where Dispenser Parts Like This Fit the Safety System
The TS6500 Series mixes two-component adhesives and resins automatically, driving both plungers on a set stroke schedule while the fluid level sensor tracks the mix. Because the plungers and cartridge holder move under motor power during that cycle, Techcon built the enclosure to lock the cycle out unless the door safety switch confirms the guard is closed. Maintenance techs replace this switch when an enclosure starts a cycle late, refuses to start at all, or the machine reports a fault tied to the enclosure position.
Keeping the Mixer’s Safety System Reliable
A worn or misaligned door safety switch is one of the more common reasons a TS6500 stops mid-shift, since the control system treats a bad signal from the switch the same as an open enclosure and halts the cycle. Replacing the switch on schedule, rather than after it fails during a run, keeps a mixing cell from losing production time to a nuisance fault. This is one of the dispenser parts worth keeping on a shelf next to the plunger and cartridge holder spares.
