Description
FasBond Toughened is a Heartland Adhesives cyanoacrylate product for buyers who need an instant adhesive with more impact and vibration tolerance than a standard thin super glue. The Chemical Concepts listing places it in the Fas-Bond family, which Heartland describes as one-component, solvent-free, very fast setting cyanoacrylates that bond a wide range of substrates.
FasBond Toughened Applications
- Small plastic, rubber, metal, and composite bonding where fast handling matters.
- Repairs that need better shock resistance than a brittle low-viscosity instant adhesive.
- Production benches assembling parts that cannot wait for a long fixture schedule.
- Sign, display, electronics, and general manufacturing work using cyanoacrylate chemistry.
- Trial bonding when operators need a toughened CA before moving to larger supply.
The product should be treated as a fast-curing adhesive, not as a gap-filling structural epoxy. Fit the parts closely, keep the surfaces clean and dry, and test the bond on the actual materials before approving production.
FasBond Toughened Handling Notes
Apply a small amount to one side of the joint, press parts together, and hold until handling strength develops. More adhesive does not always create a stronger joint. Excess material can slow cure, create bloom, or leave squeeze-out that must be cleaned later.
Keep bottles capped between uses, avoid skin contact, and protect nearby finished surfaces from drips or vapor bloom. For repeat assemblies, document the surface prep, adhesive amount, clamp time, and inspection method so the next batch follows the same process. Store material according to the current safety and product guidance.
