Huntsman Araldite AY 103 is the resin component of a transparent, low viscosity epoxy adhesive that bonds metal, ceramic, glass, wood, rubber, and rigid plastics. Paired with Hardener HY 991, it mixes into a clear, easily spread system that cures at room temperature and stays workable for a full 90 minutes. The 45 lb container feeds meter-mix equipment and high-volume hand batching where quart kits fall short.

Where Araldite AY 103 Goes to Work

Shops reach for this system when one adhesive has to cover mixed substrates on the same bench. Sign fabrication, furniture and millwork, ceramic and stone assembly, electrical insulation bonding, and general plant maintenance all sit inside its range. The low mixed viscosity of 3,500 cP wets out porous and dense surfaces alike, and the cured glue line is transparent, which keeps visible joints clean on display work.

Mixing and Curing Araldite AY 103

Combine 100 parts resin with 40 parts Hardener HY 991 by weight (100 to 50 by volume) and mix thoroughly. Apply by spatula, stiff brush, or metering equipment. The system cures in 24 hours at 68°F, or in as little as 15 minutes at 212°F when heat is available. Lap shear strength from a room temperature cure runs 2,300 psi on steel. This container is resin only, so order Hardener HY 991 alongside it.
