Description
LORD 320 is a two-part polyurethane structural adhesive supplied in a 1-gallon kit for industrial bonding of metals, composites, and fiber-reinforced plastics. The chemistry tolerates minor surface contamination and produces a flexible, impact-resistant bond line suitable for assemblies that experience vibration and thermal cycling.
Where LORD 320 fits in production
Fabricators bonding aluminum, steel, FRP panels, and composite parts use this urethane when they want the toughness of a polyurethane without the surface-prep burden of high-modulus epoxies. Truck-body builders, marine assemblers, and OEM equipment manufacturers run the product in cartridge and bulk formats. The 1-gallon pail size works well for benchtop dispensing where a meter-mix machine is not in place and a small batch volume is acceptable.
How LORD 320 holds up after cure
Cured 320 bondlines hold their flexibility through hot-cold cycling, resist common industrial fluids, and absorb energy during impact events. Open time is moderate, allowing repositioning during clamping, and full strength is reached in standard ambient cure windows. Bond joints benefit from light abrasive prep and a wipe with isopropyl alcohol to remove oils before the adhesive is dispensed.
