Description
This is the 400ml cartridge of LORD 7545-A/B, part number 3018244, and the largest size the grade is offered in. It comes in black only. Mixed 1:1 by volume, 3 to 5 minute work time, handling strength at 30 minutes, identical to the smaller cartridges. It bonds FRP, SMC and other plastics with little surface preparation, plus primed metals and dissimilar substrates. This is the size for long continuous bond lines and panel work where changing cartridges mid-seam is the thing you are trying to avoid. Made in the USA.
Black Only in This Size
Parker offers the 7545-B curative in off-white and black, but the 400ml cartridge is produced in black only. Off-white tops out at 200ml. If your joint needs an off-white bond line and more than a 200ml of material, you are running two 200ml cartridges rather than one 400ml. Worth knowing before you spec a large panel job around a color.

How Far a 400ml Cartridge Goes
| Bead Diameter | 400ml Cartridge | 200ml, for reference |
|---|---|---|
| 1/8 in (3 mm) | 165.5 ft (50.4 m) | 82.5 ft (25.15 m) |
| 1/4 in (6 mm) | 41.4 ft (12.6 m) | 20.7 ft (6.3 m) |
| 3/8 in (9.5 mm) | 18.4 ft (5.6 m) | 9.3 ft (2.8 m) |
Running the 400ml
- Takes a 1:1 gun built for 400ml cartridges. We stock the Albion B26T400 manual and the Mixpac DP2X 400 pneumatic. Neither a 50ml nor a 200ml gun will hold this cartridge.
- Consider the pneumatic if you are running these regularly. Pushing 400ml of 230,000 to 650,000 cP curative by hand is real effort, and hand fatigue over a long seam shows up as an inconsistent bead.
- Needs a static mixer with at least 24 elements, same as the 200ml. The Medmix MCQ 08-24T has 24.
- Do not plan on emptying a 400ml in one pass. At 3 to 5 minutes of work time you have roughly 41 ft of quarter-inch bead in the tube and only minutes per dispense, so this cartridge gets used across many beads with the mixer left in place between them.
- Level the plungers and purge a mixer’s length before the first usable bead. Black material that comes out streaked rather than uniformly dark means you have not cleared the mixer yet.
- Target a 0.010 to 0.040 in bondline. Larger gaps can be filled where mating surfaces are irregular.
- Clean tools with acetone or MEK before cure, never alcohol. Keep the cartridge in the Mylar bag with the desiccant until it goes in the gun, since the 7545-A resin is moisture sensitive.
Common Applications
- Long continuous bond lines on FRP and SMC panels
- Sidewall, roof and front panel bonding on truck and trailer bodies
- Service body and work truck panel lamination
- Marine and recreational vehicle composite panel bonding
- Large dark-substrate assemblies where the bond line stays visible
- Cross bonding large plastic and composite panels to primed or e-coated metal
- Production runs where cartridge changes are the bottleneck

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the 400ml come in off-white?
No. The 400ml cartridge of 7545-A/B is produced in black only. Off-white is available in 50ml and 200ml. An off-white job needing more than a 200ml means running two 200ml cartridges.
How much adhesive is in a 400ml cartridge, and how far does it go?
400 mL of total mixed material, roughly 165.5 linear feet at a 1/8 in bead, 41.4 ft at 1/4 in and 18.4 ft at 3/8 in, minus a mixer’s length of purge. That purge is a small share of a 400ml, which makes this the cheapest size per foot of bead.
What gun and mixing tip does the 400ml need?
A 1:1 gun built for 400ml cartridges plus a static mixer of at least 24 elements. We stock the Albion B26T400 manual applicator, the Mixpac DP2X 400 pneumatic, and the Medmix MCQ 08-24T mixer. A 200ml gun will not accept this cartridge.
Can I dispense a whole 400ml before it sets up?
No, and you should not try. Work time is 3 to 5 minutes, so a 400ml gets used across many separate beads rather than one continuous run. Leave the mixer attached between beads to seal the cartridge, fit a fresh mixer when you resume, and purge before the next usable bead.
Should I use the manual or the pneumatic gun?
Manual is fine for occasional use. Go pneumatic if you are running 400ml cartridges regularly, because the 7545-B curative is a heavy paste at 230,000 to 650,000 cP and hand fatigue across a long seam turns into an uneven bead.
What is the shelf life, and how should cartridges be stored?
8 months from date of manufacture unopened, stored at 65 to 85°F (18 to 30°C). The 7545-A resin is moisture sensitive, so keep cartridges in the Mylar bag with the desiccant until needed and run inventory first in, first out.
