Description
The Chem-Set 121-608 static mixing element is the internal helical core that blends two-part adhesives as they pass through a static mixer nozzle. It measures roughly 19.9 mm outer diameter by 136 mm long and carries 8 mixing elements molded in polyacetal, a rigid, chemically resistant plastic that stands up to epoxies, urethanes, and methacrylates without swelling.
How this static mixing element works
A static mixing element has no moving parts. Each helical segment splits and folds the resin and hardener streams as material is pushed through, so the two components arrive at the nozzle tip fully combined and ready to apply. Element count drives mix quality, and the 8-element design balances thorough blending against the back pressure a hand or pneumatic gun has to overcome. Too few elements leave streaks of unmixed resin or hardener, while too many add resistance and waste material in the nozzle, so the element count is matched to the chemistry and the dispensing tool.
