Description

This Techcon Viton O-ring is a large brown replacement seal for dispensing equipment service where a 4-1/8 inch inside diameter and 1/8 inch cross section are required. The fluoroelastomer material places it in the dispensing valve parts group for rebuilds that need stronger chemical and heat resistance than a standard nitrile seal can provide.

Large O-rings should be selected by the equipment drawing, the valve bill of materials, or a measured removed seal. A ring that is close but not exact can twist in the groove, compress unevenly, or leak after only a few cycles. During service, remove old material from the groove, inspect the mating surface, and replace a flattened or nicked seal before returning the equipment to production.

Viton is often selected when the fluid path sees fuels, oils, high temperatures, or solvents that can shorten the life of general-purpose rubber seals. It still needs to be checked against the exact adhesive, primer, cleaner, or process fluid being used. Store the pack with the part number visible so technicians do not mix it with Buna or EPR rings of similar size.
