Surface Preparation and Cure

Clean metal threads so they are dry and free of oil before application. Apply a continuous bead around the male thread about one to two threads back from the lead, assemble with normal tools, and avoid readjusting after tightening. Permabond lists handling strength on M10 steel at about 15 minutes, working strength at 1 to 3 hours, and full strength at 24 hours at 23 C. Stainless steel and other passive surfaces can cure more slowly, so plan for that in production and maintenance scheduling.
