Description
Permabond TA4810 is a two-part, 1:1 toughened methacrylate adhesive built for thermoplastics, thermosets, metals, and composites. Permabond identifies this toughened acrylic adhesive for structural bonding of plastics and unprimed metals. Surfaces should still be clean, dry, and grease-free before bonding, and some metals such as aluminum, copper, and their alloys may benefit from light abrasion to remove the oxide layer.
Where a toughened acrylic adhesive fits
TA4810 develops strength rapidly at room temperature, and Permabond’s current selector guide lists a 10 to 15 minute handling time. Its thixotropic body is designed for controlled application through a static mixing nozzle, while the cured adhesive provides high shear and peel strength with good impact resistance for demanding assemblies.
Because the adhesive can bond plastics, composites, and suitable unprimed metals, it is useful for mixed-material assemblies where a two-component structural acrylic is preferred. The product can reduce the need for a separate primer on suitable metals, but it does not eliminate basic cleaning and substrate preparation requirements.
Toughened acrylic adhesive cartridge sizing and dispensing
Chemical Concepts stocks TA4810 in a 50 mL cartridge sized for compatible dual-cartridge dispensing equipment. Prepare the parts, fit the correct static mixer, dispense the mixed adhesive, assemble the components, and maintain pressure until handling strength is reached.
