Description
The Techcon TS20P plunger is a 20 oz piston built with a wiper leading edge that scrapes the inside wall of the cartridge barrel clean as it travels, so less material gets left behind at the bottom of a spent cartridge. Molded in white medium-density polyethylene, it is sized to match Techcon’s standard 20 oz syringe barrel and cartridge system.
What the Techcon TS20P Plunger Wiper Edge Does
A plain flat plunger can leave a measurable film of adhesive, encapsulant, or potting compound clinging to the barrel wall once the cartridge runs dry. The wiper edge on the Techcon TS20P plunger rides against that wall as it advances, pushing more of the material out to the nozzle instead of leaving it behind, which cuts waste on higher-cost fluids.
Loading the Techcon TS20P Plunger
Insert the plunger wiper-side first into the open end of a filled 20 oz barrel and seat it square before it takes its first stroke in the dispensing gun. A plunger that starts cocked to one side can bind partway down the barrel, so confirm it tracks straight before running a full cycle. These ship 100 to a pack, enough to keep a fill line stocked through a full production run. Standardizing on one plunger style across a fill line also speeds up training, since every barrel behaves the same way once it goes into the gun.
