Description
Surface Pretreatment System
Pyrosil® FB25 Handheld Kit
Advanced flame pyrolysis technology for superior adhesion promotion.
The Pyrosil® FB25 is a handheld flame treatment kit used for deep surface pretreatment before bonding, coating, printing, or sealing. The system deposits a several-nanometer-thin (20 to 55nm), highly reactive silicon dioxide (SiOx) layer directly onto treated surfaces.
This layer dramatically increases surface tension and improves wettability, helping structural adhesives, coatings, silicones, graphics, and paints bond permanently to notoriously difficult substrates like low-energy plastics, glass, and powder-coated metals.

Complete FB25 Kit Component Breakdown
Each system arrives fully contained in a heavy-duty, protective carrying case with everything your production team needs to begin immediate component pretreatment:
- (1) Industrial FB25 Handheld Torch: Ergonomic, steady flame pyrolysis tool.
- (1) Dedicated Torch Bench Stand: Secure resting dock during active workflows.
- (1) 50g Gas Refill Cartridge: High-purity gas mixture optimized for silication.
- (1) Bottle of SurALink 011 Primer (50ml): Premium digital ink adhesion promoter.
- (1) Premium Primer Applicator Brush: Ensures lint-free, uniform surface priming.
- (1) Rugged Protective Carrying Case: Keeps fuel, torch, and primer safely consolidated.
Standard Flame Treatment
Standard propane flame treatment only provides a temporary fix for difficult surfaces.
- Temporarily increases surface energy solely through brief oxidation.
- Does not permanently alter the underlying chemical structure of the substrate.
- May fail to prevent long-term delamination under mechanical or chemical wear.
The Pyrosil® Advantage
Pyrosil chemically transforms the surface for permanent, structural bond reliability.
- Deposits a dense, amorphous, and highly reactive silicon dioxide interface.
- Dramatically improves cross-hatch ink permanence, torque, shear, and peel strength.
- Provides superior resistance against moisture infiltration, abrasion, and environmental wear.
Proven Performance: Pyrosil vs. Standard Propane

Pyrosil achieving flawless adhesion profiles on difficult, non-porous powder-coated surfaces.
System Applications & Primer Logic
The dynamic capabilities of the FB25 handheld torch can be extended using specific target system companions depending on your shop process requirement:
- SurALink 011 Primer (Digital Ink Promotion): Included in this standard kit configuration. Developed with leading ink manufacturers, it is engineered explicitly to unlock absolute ink cross-hatch anchorage for UV-curable and thermal inkjet inks onto commercial glass containers, plastics, and metal objects.
- SurALink 021 Primer (Adhesive Bonding Promoter): Formulated explicitly for structural component assembly. Serves as an unyielding chemical bridge for raw epoxies, acrylic adhesives (such as Plexus resins), and polyurethane sealants.
- Substrate Agility: Instantly eliminates surface energy and bonding challenges across smooth metals, architectural glass panels, glazed ceramics, solar configurations, and low-energy plastics (HDPE, PP, PE, Nylon).
Technician’s Field Best Practices
- Use the non-luminous oxidizing part of the flame for pretreatment; avoid the luminous reductive inner cone.
- The 10mm Path Profile: The FB25 outputs a narrow, highly concentrated 10mm flame path. Sweep uniformly across the substrate profile in close, quick, overlapping sweeps to ensure uniform silicate coverage.
- Plastic Thermal Traversal: Low-energy polymers require swifter traversal motion than glass or metal. Never dwell the flame on plastics to protect profiles from burning or superficial heat checking.
- For metal, glass, and ceramics, slightly warming the material to 40°C–50°C can help avoid condensation during active application.
- The 3-to-4-Hour Execution Window: A fresh silication line is hyper-reactive. Workspace ambient dust, moisture, and particles degrade the treatment line quickly. Downstream primers, technical inks, or adhesives should always be applied within 3 to 4 hours of flame exposure.

Important Safety & Scaling Info
Safety Note: Pyrosil uses a propane-butane gas mixture and must be handled with appropriate flame safety practices. Remove surrounding ignition sources, do not smoke, and execute workflows inside robust ventilation spaces or functional exhaust setups. Exercise caution and specialized handling safety routines when flame treating PTFE or other fluorine-containing polymers.
Scaling up manufacturing outputs? Explore the full Pyrosil® Line:
The manual handheld FB25 system is tailored for batch operations, field installations, repair environments, and small prototype runs. If your production loop dictates a wider flame boundary or multiple chemical vapor deposition options, consider scaling up to the Pyrosil® GVE2 HB Portable Tabletop Unit (which features standard and high output profiles), or our inline conveyorized Semi-Automatic and Fully-Automatic systems built for volume inline manufacturing.
