Description
The QSil 561 encapsulant is a two part, pour grade silicone from CHT Group used to pot and protect electronic assemblies. It cures by addition reaction to a gray elastomer that shields circuits, sensors, and connectors from moisture, vibration, and thermal cycling. Part A and Part B mix on the bench and pour straight into the housing. The kit ships as two components so a shop mixes only what a job needs.
Where the QSil 561 encapsulant is used
Electronics manufacturers and repair shops pour this silicone over circuit boards, power supplies, LED modules, and field sensors. The mixed material flows into tight spaces and around components, then cures to a resilient rubber that stays flexible across a wide temperature range and absorbs shock in the field. It suits potted enclosures that see weather, washdown, or constant motion, and it works well for sealing harnesses and bonding parts that must survive outdoor exposure.
How the QSil 561 encapsulant performs
Once Part A and Part B are combined and degassed, the silicone self levels and cures without the heavy exotherm or shrinkage of rigid potting resins. The cured elastomer resists water, dust, and many chemicals, and it can be cut away for rework when a potted component needs service. Cure time depends on temperature, and gentle heat speeds the set when a line cannot wait. This quart kit suits prototyping and small production runs before stepping up to bulk sizes.
