Description
LORD 7545 is an equal-mix, two-component urethane adhesive for bonding FRP, SMC, and other reinforced plastics with little surface preparation. The G curative is the fastest option in the 7545 line, with a working time of about 1.5 minutes and handling strength in as little as 10 minutes at 75°F (24°C). This straight-side stainless steel metal pail holds the G-side component for production lines running high part counts through the system.
### Where This Urethane Adhesive Fits
Short-cycle assembly lines reach for the G curative when a fixture or clamp needs to release in minutes, not hours. Automotive trim, SMC body panels, and small composite parts that move through a line quickly all suit this speed. Because the working time is so short, most shops run LORD 7545G through meter-mix-dispense equipment rather than handheld cartridges, so the adhesive is placed and parts mated before the pot life runs out. LORD 7545 also bonds primed metals and combinations of dissimilar substrates, which keeps one system covering more of the line.
### How This Urethane Adhesive Holds Up
Once cured, the bond resists weathering, humidity, and salt spray, and the black cured color hides on parts that will not be visible or painted. Cured hardness runs Shore D 67, with tensile strength around 3,000 psi and elongation near 72 percent, giving the joint enough give to handle vibration and thermal cycling without cracking. Full chemical and moisture resistance develops within 24 hours at room temperature, faster with modest heat.
