Description

This is the 20 oz sausage pack of ASI 5900 Fast Grab Hybrid Adhesive, a one-part, moisture-cure hybrid adhesive that develops immediate green strength to hold substrates in place while it cures. The sausage format carries nearly twice the material of a 10.2 oz cartridge in a foil pack, which means fewer reloads on a panel run and a fraction of the packaging waste per gallon of adhesive applied.

This is the format for shops and crews running volume: full shower surrounds, production panel bonding, countertop installs by the truckload. ASI 5900 is 100% solids, contains no solvents or isocyanates, and will not shrink during cure. It bonds to wet substrates and will not wash off with rain. Supplied in Natural White, 12 packs per case.

Performance in Production

  • Nearly twice the material of a 10.2 oz cartridge, which means fewer reload stops during a panel run or a full shower surround.
  • Foil pack collapses as material is dispensed, so more of the pack empties out and there is less rigid packaging to dispose of per job.
  • Immediate green strength holds large format panels in position, which reduces or eliminates bracing, clamping, and fastener use during install.
  • Non-slump, gun grade consistency stays put on vertical and overhead surfaces.
  • Skins in 10 minutes at 70 degrees F and 50% RH. Tool the joint before skinning takes place.
  • Ready to use with no mixing or additives.
  • A partially used pack can be capped in the barrel between beads, though a sausage cannot be resealed the way a cartridge nozzle can. Size the pack to the work in front of you.
  • Stays consistent to dispense and tool from 0 degrees F to 150 degrees F.
  • Surfaces must be dry and clean. Use 100% IPA or acetone for prep. Do not use petroleum based solvents.
  • Allow 7 days for maximum strength before testing adhesion or strength.
  • Do not use on polyethylene, polypropylene, or TPO without testing first.

Common Applications

  • Production shower panel and tub surround installation
  • Large format panel bonding, including solid surface, stone, porcelain, and fiberglass
  • High-volume countertop to cabinet bonding
  • Panel assembly on trailer, RV, and modular builds
  • Subfloor and wall panel assembly
  • Wall stone and mirror mounting on commercial jobs
  • General construction and industrial manufacturing bonding at volume

Sausage Pack or Cartridge

The adhesive is identical in both packages. Go with the 20 oz sausage pack when you are running volume and want fewer reloads and less packaging waste per gallon applied. Go with the 10.2 oz cartridge when you need standard caulk gun compatibility, smaller job quantities, or material spread across several trucks and stations.

Do I need a different gun for sausage packs?

Yes. A 20 oz sausage pack requires a barrel gun sized for sausage packs. A standard cartridge caulk gun will not dispense it. If your crew does not already have barrel guns on the truck, the 10.2 oz cartridge is the easier starting point.

How many sausage packs are in a case?

12 packs per case.

Is the adhesive the same as the cartridge version?

Yes. Same formulation, same physical properties, same cure behavior. Only the package and the dispensing equipment change.
