This encapsulant catalyst is the matched curing component for Shin-Etsu KE-1310ST and KE-1311T silicone systems. CAT-1310 is not a stand-alone molding material. It must be paired with the specified base and measured at the documented ratio so the addition-cure system develops its intended strength, hardness, and release behavior.
Encapsulant Catalyst Fit and Compatibility
Use CAT-1310 only with the approved Shin-Etsu base named for the job. The mapped technical sheet identifies KE-1310ST with CAT-1310 as a two-component, translucent moldmaking and potting compound. The higher platinum catalyst level is intended to help the system overcome inhibition issues while supporting high-strength molds, low shrinkage, tear resistance, and easy release.
Confirm the exact base label before mixing because similar product names do not establish compatibility. Keep measuring tools dedicated to each side, prevent contact with sulfur compounds or other known addition-cure inhibitors, and run a small test cure when the master pattern, release agent, coating, or adjacent material has not been qualified with this system.
Encapsulant Mixing and Buying Format
The TDS specifies 100 parts KE-1310ST base to 10 parts CAT-1310 by weight, equivalent to a 10:1 ratio. Measure accurately, scrape the container walls and bottom, and blend until the batch is uniform. The documented working time is about two hours, with a 24-hour cure at 23°C. Temperature, batch size, and contamination can alter actual shop behavior.
